Who are we?
Our Mission
AAPI Youth Voices is a youth-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which empowers young individuals to speak up and share their culture, traditions, languages, and more. AAPI Youth Voices strives to raise cultural awareness, promote respect for diversity, and contribute to an inclusive, empathetic, and united society.
AAPI Youth Voices Mission encompasses three key pillars: Political,Cultural, and Educational.
Political Mission:
AYV’s primary goal is to facilitate lawmakers to sign the AAPI History Bill into law. Currently enacted in eight states, our focus is on making Minnesota the ninth state to embrace this crucial legislation, furthering the recognition and acknowledgment of AAPI contributions and history.
Cultural Mission:
Our focus is to heighten cultural awareness through various initiatives. This includes organizing free music & art workshops, multicultural events and conducting storytelling & interviews.
Educational Mission:
Our educational mission is showcased through “One Month of AAPI Heritage” in May, coinciding with AAPI Heritage Month. Throughout this special month, our dedicated chapter leaders conduct presentations in their local schools. The mission is two-fold: to cultivate influence and support within the community, fostering awareness and advocacy, and to actively contribute to the legislative process by assisting lawmakers in passing the AAPI History Bill.
We strive to foster cultural awareness and ensure that the heritage and contributions of AAPI communities are recognized, valued, and passed on to future generations. It is through understanding and embracing our differences that we can build bridges of empathy, respect, and unity.
