AAPI Youth Leadership Clubs

AAPI Leadership Club

AAPI Youth Voices proudly established Youth Leadership Clubs at various schools to empower young leaders, promote inclusion, and amplify underrepresented voices. These clubs foster a network of passionate advocates dedicated to advancing diversity and equity.

AAPI Youth Leadership Club  has successfully organized a variety of multicultural events, storytelling sessions, and interviews, documenting the life stories of AAPI Minnesotans in our book The Untold Stories of AAPI. By reconnecting with our histories and fostering mutual understanding, we strive to build a more inclusive and united society.

Recently, AAPI  Leadership Club hosted an Asian lantern-making event in honor of the Asian Lunar New Year, bringing together students and teachers in a vibrant celebration of tradition and creativity. Red lanterns, a symbol of good luck and prosperity in many Asian cultures, are commonly displayed during the New Year to bring fortune to families. During the event, participants had the opportunity to craft their own lanterns from scratch, creating vibrant, handmade decorations that they proudly took home. More than just an art activity, the event fostered cultural appreciation, strengthened community bonds, and highlighted the importance of representation and shared traditions.
